What I am doing and why...

Updated: May 8, 2024

I've been in the rotating equipment service business for 23 years now. I have had the privilege of working alongside exceptional engineers, mechanics, and pioneers of the turbomachinery diagnostic and repair industry.

Engineers love to answer questions they know the answers to.

The best engineers do it with humility.

I have a desire to share what I have learned, I will do my best to follow in the footsteps of my greatest teachers that also turned out to be the best engineers I've ever met.

I openly dedicate this effort to my father, Fernando A Romero a great teacher and the man who inspired me to become an engineer.

To John East whom I lovingly called the Yoda of Turbomachinery.

And to Bob Eisenmann Sr. the guy that literally wrote the book on machinery diagnostics.

I have many other thankyous I'll extend personally and privately.

My plan is to take what I've learned over 23 years, break it down to fundamental concepts and share them bit by bit on this platform.

I invite you to follow and participate.

I don’t have all the answers, so if you are like me, chip in, let's elevate the knowledge base of rotating equipment repairs together.

Borrowing lines from the Sound of Music , I say "…lets start from the very beginning, a very good place to start…"

Let's talk about API 687…  (to be continued next week)
